Beach Creek

Qualicum Beach, BC

The Beach Creek station was installed on July 23, 2020 by BCCF and the Qualicum Beach Streamkeepers. This station is approximately halfway between the headwaters (at Pheasant Glen golf resort) and the mouth (at Hwy 19A). Along the way, the creek passes through residential properties, the Heritage Forest, and another golf course. This is a productive creek for coho and cutthroat trout.

Wilfred Creek

Fanny Bay, BC

The Wilfred Creek station was installed on August 2, 2018 by BCCF and the Fanny Bay Salmonid Enhancement Society (FBSES).  This station is located near Hwy 19A and captures most of the Wilfred Creek drainage. This is a challenging site to monitor. Beaufort Watershed Stewards have stepped up to help with this site during low flows.

They are planning to move their station to a new, more stable location. Lower Shelly Creek is used as critical rearing habitat for Coho salmon and its upper reaches support a population of resident cutthroat trout.

Grandon Creek

Qualicum Beach, BC

The Grandon Creek station was installed by BCCF and the Qualicum Beach Streamkeepers on August 17, 2012. This station is relatively stable due to the weir constructed by the Town of Qualicum Beach. A new "bucket brigade" has started up to monitor this station during low flows.
